
Make A Toast - A Guide To Champagne Cocktails
With a few small additions, a simple glass of champagne takes a sophisticated twist. From hip lounges to Sunday brunch at your home’s bar, these cocktails are timeless favorites. Pop the cork and let the bubbles pour. Cheers.
- 1 cube sugar
- 3 drops Angostura bitters
Kir Royale:
- 1/2 oz creme de cassis
Mimosa:*
- 1 oz orange juice
- 1/2 glass stout beer
- 1 1/2 oz dry gin
- 1/2 tsp powdered sugar
- juice 1/2 lemon
The Ghost:
- 1/2 oz melon liqueur
D’Artagnan:
- 1 tsp brandy
- 1 tsp Grand Marnier
- 3 tsp orange juice
- 1/2 tsp simple syrup
Queen’s Cousin:
- 1 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz Grand Marnier
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1 tsp triple sec
- 1 drop Angostura aromatic bitters
- 1/2 oz cranberry juice
- 1/4 oz triple sec
- peach puree
- raspberry puree or grenadine
Complicated Bellini:
- 2 oz peach nectar
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz peach schnapps
Pimm’s Royale:
- splash Pimm’s
- absinthe ( or pastis )
Nelson’s Blood:
- 5:1 ratio of champagne to tawny port wine
Champagne Flip:
- 3/4 oz brandy
- 3 dashes Cointreau
- 1/4 oz cream
- 1 egg yolk
- pinch nutmeg
Some of these recipe graphics are more specific than others. As a general rule of thumb guideline ( except where noted ) the drink is completed by filling the flute or other barware with 3 to 6 ounces of champagne and adding optional garnishes.
