The Grinch Who Stole Christmas started out being grumpy and green with envy in his mountaintop man cave. Evil thoughts led to grinning from ear to ear in the role of reverse Santa, and finally, he had a change of heart about all the Whos down in Whoville having a happy Holiday. This colorful bright red and glowing green Grinch drink celebrates his new found Christmas spirit and is a tasty tipple themed to match the holidays.
Green Grinch Christmas Cocktail Recipe:
- 2 oz green melon liqueur
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 1 tsp simple syrup
- 1 maraschino cherry
Add the green liqueur, freshly squeezed juice of 1/4 lemon & simple syrup (or substitute sweet & sour mix for the last two ingredients) to a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a red maraschino cherry.
Other versions of Grinch drink recipes sometimes call for a shot of absinthe which certainly adds the extra ‘color’ of the green fairy mystique. However, you wouldn’t want to turn into a mean one, Mister Grinch on Christmas. If you’re hosting the holidays with your home bar stick with light libations and a few laughs to lift your spirits.
